| Kim qualified in 1977 and
initially practiced for many years in The North
Kensington Law centre specialising in employment,
child care and environmental law and acted for
clients in a major action that reached the court
of appeal against BP, Shell and Octel regarding
lead petrol causing sub clinical brain damage.
In 1981 Kim became a Partner at the north London
firm Nash and Dowell Solicitors continuing to
specialise in all areas of family and criminal
law.
Kim has previously been instructed in various
high profile cases involving wardship and care
cases, including the well known“The Old
Convent care case” in Essex and significantly
the wardship case known as “The children
of God case” successfully acting for a
member of a new religious movement in what was
reputed to be the longest running wardship trial
in the history of the Family Division.. As a
member of the Law Society’s specialist
Children Panel since 1985 Kim has a wealth of
experience dealing with matters involving children
and conducts his own advocacy at all court levels.
In addition to public and private law proceedings,
Kim represents parents in private law cases
following the breakdown of a relationship and
is able to advise in all areas of ancillary
relief following divorce or financial dispute
and in financial consequences of the breakdown
of relationships between unmarried couples.
Kim also has an interest in mental health issues
regarding incapacitated adults and the elderly.
In 2005 Kim joined the firm as consultant in
the family law team.
